FAQ
Common Questions
How is the SBA 7(a) rate set?
The 7(a) rate is the prime rate plus a spread that the SBA limits by loan size. The calculator fills in that spread for the amount you enter, or you can set it yourself, and shows the payment if prime rises 1%.
How long do SBA loans run?
Here, 7(a) working capital and equipment loans run 10 years and real estate 25 years. Express runs 10 years, and Microloan terms run from 1 to 6 years.
How does the 504 program split the financing?
You put 10% to 20% down, a bank lends half of the project over 25 years and a CDC lends the rest over 20 or 25 years. Enter the total project cost and the calculator shows the bank payment, the CDC payment and the combined payment.
How long does an SBA loan take?
Most SBA loans take 30 to 90 days to close, and Express 2 to 3 weeks. The faster products on the other calculators move sooner and cost more.
What do SBA lenders look at?
Tax returns, a profit and loss statement and cash-flow projections, along with your credit. Most SBA lenders start at 680.
