FAQ

Common Questions

How is an advance payment calculated?
Multiply the advance by the factor rate to get the total payback, then divide it by the number of payments in the term. A $50,000 advance at a 1.22 factor rate pays back $61,000; over 6 months of weekly payments that is 26 payments of about $2,346.
Does paying early lower the cost?
Not by itself. The total payback is set on day one, so paying an advance early does not lower the total unless your agreement includes an early payoff discount. The payoff panel shows the check that would close the advance at any point, and lets you add a discount if your agreement has one.
What is the difference between a factor rate and an APR?
A factor rate states the whole cost up front: at 1.25, every dollar advanced pays back $1.25, whatever the term. An APR spreads the cost over a year, so the same factor rate reads as a much higher annual rate on a short term than on a long one. The calculator shows a labeled simple annual rate next to the factor rate so you can line the two up.
What factor rates are typical?
Factor rates typically run from 1.15 to 1.30. Where a file lands depends on your deposits, your history and the term; steady, consistent deposits tend to price at the low end.
What if my payments are a percentage of sales?
Switch the structure to percentage of sales and enter your monthly sales and the holdback share. The calculator estimates what goes out each month and about how many months the payback takes, a figure that flexes with your sales.
Can the term run longer than 18 months?
The term control stops at 18 months. Longer terms are priced as term financing, so for a longer payback run the numbers on the term calculator.
